Dr. Liora Bensoussan is a postdoctoral fellow at My OCD Care who specializes in treatments for OCD, anxiety and mood disorders in adolescents and adults. Dr. Bensoussan creates her interventions based on her patients’ individual needs and goals by using an eclectic approach of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DCT),
Dr. Bensoussan earned her doctorate Clinical and School Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and her B.A. in psychology from Lander College for Women, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Bensoussan completed her pre-doctoral internship at Hofstra’s Student Counseling Services, where she was trained in evidence-based treatments for a wide range of diagnoses. Prior to her internship, she received training at Montefiore Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital; she also spent a year as an extern at Hewlett High School.
Dr. Bensoussan’s goals are to help you accept yourself as you are, while also encouraging you to gain insight into the thoughts and behaviors which distance you from the person you want to be. She will work to provide you with the tools to incorporate changes that will align with your values, and therefore bring you closer to your most meaningful life.
